Urban populations are especially vulnerable to the impending effects of climate change. As the population increases, it is becoming increasingly difficult to retain a city’s identity and boost a sense of community.
Our on-site solutions for Tømmerkaia include modest housing options, green city planning, urban agriculture and social inclusion. The focus of Urban Space Labs project is agriculture, and we have tested out modular solutions such as shipping containers. We are also planning a greenhouse and floating structures for farming. Partners will coordinate the outdoor aspects and organize labs including all of the user groups: high school, art hall, drug rehabilitation center and local organizations.
